Editorial policy.

HantaTracker exists to provide accurate, current, plain-language information about hantavirus and emerging zoonotic diseases. This page describes the standards every editorial decision is held to.

Clinical review

Every clinical page is reviewed by a credentialed clinician (US-licensed MD or RN with infectious-disease or public-health background) before publication. Each page shows a "Last reviewed" date and the reviewer's name. Pages older than 12 months are flagged for re-review.

The reviewer's NPI/license number is verifiable on request. Reviewers receive a per-page or monthly retainer; we disclose any commercial relationship that could influence content.

Ethics

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it visibly. Material corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected page with the date and what changed. Email contact@hantatracker.app with corrections. We aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 72 hours for clinical errors.

Citations

Every clinical claim links to a primary source: peer-reviewed journals (PubMed), regulatory bodies (CDC, WHO, PAHO, ECDC), or national public health authorities. Where evidence is preliminary, we say so explicitly.

AI use

We use AI tools to assist with drafting, summarization, and translation. No clinical page is published without a credentialed clinician's review. We do not publish AI-generated content as authoritative without human verification.

Privacy

We use privacy-first analytics (Plausible) by default. We never sell personal data. The risk-assessment quiz runs entirely in your browser and does not transmit answers server-side.
